1. Working hours
Professional drivers may not exceed 9 hours of driving per day, extendable to 10 hours no more than twice per week.
The weekly driving limit is 56 hours, and the maximum over two consecutive weeks is 90 hours.
During the day, a minimum break of 45 minutes is mandatory after a maximum of 4 hours and 30 minutes of driving, which can be split into two periods (15 + 30 minutes).
2. Rest periods
Drivers must observe a minimum daily rest of 11 hours, which may be reduced to 9 hours up to three times per week (without compensation).
The weekly rest must last at least 45 consecutive hours, reducible to 24 hours only once every two weeks, provided the reduced time is recovered within the third following week.
3. Night hours
If the driver works between 00:00 and 07:00, night work regulations apply:
in this case, the total working time must not exceed 10 hours (driving plus other duties) in a 24-hour period, unless a double crew is present.
Night work requires careful planning to ensure compliance with limits and safe driving.
